Our staff of clergy, social workers, and psychologist work with people on psychological, emotional and spiritual concerns to ease suffering and restore hope. We provide counseling services along with educational programming, and consulting for congregations and groups.
The Samaritan Counseling Center opened in 1993 and was accredited by Lutheran Services of America in 2001. Samaritan is a state-certified counseling center and a non-profit 501C (3). The center is affiliated with the National Samaritan Institute.
The National Samaritan Institute has 500 offices in 33 states and in Japan. Two parish pastors, a physician, and a seminary professor founded the Samaritan Institute in 1972 when they observed that by working together they were very effective in helping people with stress-related problems. This team approach became the foundation of the Samaritan program.
Now in our second decade of service, we continue to provide quality ecumenical, interdisciplinary counseling and psychotherapy services to the extended community.
